About School Nurses Australia
School Nurses Australia was founded as the School Nurses Association of NSW in 1981 as a professional body for nurses who are working in schools, including private and public, day and boarding schools. The Association is a registered Not For Profit Organisation with more than 300 members, with representatives from over 100 schools throughout New South Wales. The Association aims to set a high standard for primary health care across the entire school community, promote the role of nurses in schools, provide opportunities for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and facilitate networking opportunities with other nurses working in schools in NSW and Australia wide. In 2018, the Association changed its name to School Nurses Australia to enable more inclusive nationwide participation and networking among nurses working in the school environment.\
It is our mission to provide knowledge based nursing practice within the educational setting to students to facilitate wellbeing, optimal health, learning and growth.
